Our Doctrinal Statement

We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word (both verbal and plenary). That it is our only and final authority for faith and practice. That it is inerrant and is faithfully preserved for us today. We use the King James Version in English.

We believe in a literal six day creation of the world by God’s spoken word made up of real twenty-four hour days. We reject the day-age theory and theistic evolution. We also reject the belief that God made everything in an unorganized state prior to Creation and then brought order to it in six literal days.

We believe that God is Triune—eternally existent in the Persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit— Co-equal yet distinct in Person. That God is eternal, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-wise. That God is the Creator of everything.

We believe that God the Father loved the world so much He sent His Son to pay man’s sin penalty and that all who will believe in His Son shall be saved. That He offers the gift of salvation freely to all who will believe. That He is not willing that any should perish.

We believe that Jesus, the Son of God, is fully God incarnate. He is the Son of God who existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit from eternity past. In the process of time He was born of a Virgin in Bethlehem and took upon Himself the form of man being fully God and also fully man-yet without sin. He died on the cross to pay the penalty of all men’s sin. He arose the third day—victorious over Sin and death. He is now ascended back to heaven and will one day come again. We are to be watching and working for Him until He comes.

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, indwells every born again believer from the moment of salvation and no secondary experience is needed. He reproves the world of sin, righteousness and coming judgement. He guides the believer into all truth. He is the Comforter. He changes the believer to be more like Christ as the believer yields and submits to the Word of God. We recognize that the believer must daily yield and submit to the Holy Spirit in order to be filled with/walking in the Spirit.

We believe that man is a sinner by nature and by choice. His sin permanently separates him from God unless he receives the gift of salvation. Every man has both the ability (free-will) and obligation to choose or reject Christ. Apart from Christ he is destined to eternal damnation in the lake of fire. In Christ he receives eternal life with God in heaven.

We believe that salvation is a free gift that is obtained by grace alone through faith in Christ alone. It was bought by the blood of Christ on the cross and proven accepted by His resurrection the third day. Salvation is available freely to all who will acknowledge they are a sinner and place their faith in Christ and His work on the cross for them. Salvation is eternal and can never be lost.

We believe that the local church is God’s institution made for the edification of the believer, growth in the knowledge of God and the Bible, worship of God, and fulfilling of the Great Commission. Christ has purchased the church with His own blood and its purity and doctrine must be carefully protected. Church planting is God’s heartbeat and happens as we complete every aspect of the Great Commission.

We are Independent Baptist by conviction. We believe in/that: the Bible is our final and only authority for faith and practice; the autonomy of the local church; and the priesthood of the believer. We believe there are two offices—pastor and deacon. We believe in individual soul liberty and separation of church and state. We believe there are two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Table. We believe in Biblical separation for the purpose of personal and ecclesiastical holiness.

We believe the Great Commission is an urgent task that compels us to obey Christ at all costs so that all who will hear and believe may escape eternal and final judgement. This is God’s heartbeat and it ought be ours.
